We live in such a beautiful and intriguing place. Be sure to get out and enjoy it. Here are some of my favorite year round attractions.

Ann Norton Sculpture GardensThe Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens are a culture gem in downtown West Palm Beach. Take a stroll through monumental sculptures, fountains and rare palms. And don’t miss the annual Halloween party that takes place here.

Peanut IslandThis 80-acre island is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon in the Florida sunshine. Don’t miss the guarded snorkeling lagoon.

Friday Night Date Night

Posted on March 5, 2010 · Leave a Comment

We’ll this week’s Friday Night Date Night had to be pushed back because my boy is out of Town which is too bad because I am dyeing to see Alice in Wonderland. I have anticipated the release of this movie for a while. And I wonder if this movie, based on a childhood classic, is really children friendly. As an adult I’ve re-read the book and I had to ask myself the same thing. But that is all trivial and what women wouldn’t want to sit and watch Johnny Depp for any length of time. Especially if he’s in 3-D. After my awesome experience with Avatar 3-D I am definitely going to see this movie in 3-D too. And while I have to wait till next weekend to see it I hope you get to see it soon. Please let me know how it was! Until then I’ll be watching the previews.

I love cooking but it gets a little crowded in my kitchen when my boyfriend tries to lend a hand. The solution to our problem? An Island for our kitchen. This is a great kitchen accessory. Now I have my own little work station plus I can look out rather than have my back turned. I also find that when I have guests over we put the Hors d’œuvres on the island so people can congregate around in the kitchen. I think some of the best conversations take place in the kitchen.

Now Kitchen Islands come in every shape size and style. I prefer the taller islands because I prefer my work space to be higher than your average countertop. I also prefer them in the old butcher-block style with a solid wood on top. I just like cutting right on the wood without worrying about ruining it. If found my island at IKEA where will you find yours?

3. nectarines
4. peaches

Posted on February 26, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Here’s a look at a couple of West Palm’s very best year-round attractions.

Jupiter Beach & Lighthouse – Grab Fido and head to Jupiter Beach, one of the few remaining dog-friendly beaches in the state. While you’re there, be sure to check out the Jupiter Lighthouse, one of Florida’s most historic landmarks.

CityPlace – This West Palm Beach hot spot is home to lively restaurants, tons of shops, special entertainment and a movie theater.

Mybe even check these places out this weekend!
