Improve Your Apartment’s Kitchen with an Island

I love cooking but it gets a little crowded in my kitchen when my boyfriend tries to lend a hand. The solution to our problem? An Island for our kitchen. This is a great kitchen accessory. Now I have my own little work station plus I can look out rather than have my back turned. I also find that when I have guests over we put the Hors d’œuvres on the island so people can congregate around in the kitchen. I think some of the best conversations take place in the kitchen.

Now Kitchen Islands come in every shape size and style. I prefer the taller islands because I prefer my work space to be higher than your average countertop. I also prefer them in the old butcher-block style with a solid wood on top. I just like cutting right on the wood without worrying about ruining it.
