3 Ways to Break Your Exercise Routine!

Do you ever get that feeling that when you’re on the treadmill, you’re like a hamster on a wheel, just going round and round and round? I know I do! Unfortunately, that’s the rut we get ourselves into with workout routines. I decided to change up my routine and do things that I wouldn’t ordinarily do.
Here are my top 3 exercise routines:
- I started getting up earlier in the morning and going for a walk. It was hard at first, because I really love that extra hour in bed. I have a dog, so, there was my incentive!
- I changed the venue of my workout. When I didn’t get to the gym, I would choose one of the parks nearby that has a walking trail. I even felt adventurous one time and actually started running. That lasted about a tenth of a mile. LOL!
- I have 2 girls who love to play outside and play crazy games like Dodgeball. I had never played it before and after about half an hour of NOT getting out of the way of the ball, I called it quits and decided that it would be safer for me to stick to a less painful ways of exercise… biking!

Your work week can get pretty busy and at the end of the day who wants to exercise? We all know it’s good for us but there are so many excuses we have to skip out on exercise. But would you exercise if you got the best exercise in only 30 minutes? You actually can, but you have to be willing to work for those 30 minutes.
For your 30 minute exercise you’ll do circuit training.
Circuit training is short bursts of resistance exercise using moderate weights and frequent repetitions, followed quickly by another burst of exercise targeting a different muscle group.
You’ll be working various exercises for shorter amounts of time but at higher resistance. Remember it’s only 30 minutes, you can do it! Here’s a great sample of a good 30 minute circuit training exercise!

Sometimes your exercise routine can get boring, I know mine does. I do the same routine everyday, I run for 30 minutes, weightlift for the next 30 and then do a step class for an hour. I’m getting bored of it actually, no matter how healthy I’m being. I’ve started looking for activities to break up my exercise routine so I don’t stop altogether. Here are 3 great ways to break your exercise routine.
- Change your venue- Do you exercise in a gym, how about exercising outside?
- Find fun exercise- Try out a new sport, well just try something new.
- Lend a hand. Support causes such as breast cancer, AIDS, or multiple sclerosis by doing fund-raising walks, bike rides, or runs.

Fizzy Lifters!

I know I am not alone when it comes to the afternoon crash. I get back from lunch and all I want to do is crawl up and take a nap. And while mid day siestas are expectable in other countries I have a feeling it wouldn’t go over too well at my office. That is why I keep a case of Emergen-C in my desk draw. These little vitamin-c packets mix into a glass of water to make a tasty fizzy drink. Plus it-s packed with vitamin B which keeps my brain working till the end of the day. Pick some up at the pharmacy or health food store.

Increased Exercise Doesn’t Have to Mean Increased Hunger

It seems like every year around this time I am starting a new fitness program. Usually it’s because I want to drop those extra pounds that the holidays have left on my middle and sometimes it’s because I have a specific fitness goal in mind. Last year, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to run a 5k, so off to the gym I went, trained several times a week and eventually ran the entire 5k. And yes, I dropped a few pounds in the process. But along with the increase in energy that I felt, I also noticed that I was really hungry. More so than normal for sure, and that was making it really hard for me to drop the amount of weigh that I wanted to.
This is not the first time that I have noticed this particular side effect of increased exercise and I have talked to others who say the same thing. So, is there hope of keeping up a good exercise regime and not eating myself out of weight loss at the same time?
It appears so. According to a new study conducted by a team of researchers from Australia, Great Britain and Sweden, if you stick with your exercise program long enough, you might be able to keep your appetite from growing, making it easier to control how much you are eating.
Sounds like a great reason to stick with that new exercise plan through the dreaded plateau to me!

Have you recently seen your favorite women on Facebook posting only colors on their Facebook status. I know when I was on Facebook last night I was confused to what was going on. After “Googleing” the situation I came across this blog that explains it all. There is a viral Facebook message being sent to all women on Facebook asking them to post the color of there bra to support Breast Cancer. The message and posting are efforts that will hopefully conduct a viral spread of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Support Breast Cancer Awareness and post your bra color.
